1. Who we are

Rasnov City is a tourist information website about Râșnov, Brașov County, Romania. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation 2016/679) we are the data controller for personal data processed through this site. You can reach us at hello@rasnov.city.

2. What data we process

Browsing the site: we do not require an account and we do not ask for personal data to read the guide. Our hosting provider processes technical data (IP address, browser type, requested page) in server logs for security and availability.

Contacting us on WhatsApp: if you message us, we process the phone number, name and the content of the messages you send, in order to answer your questions and help you plan your trip. WhatsApp itself is operated by Meta and processes the message data under its own privacy policy.

Preferences: your language choice and your cookie decision are stored locally in your browser and are never sent to us.

3. Legal basis

We rely on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to keep the site secure and available, on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for any optional cookies, and on steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b)) when you contact us about a booking or a trip plan.

4. Sharing and transfers

We do not sell personal data. Data may be processed by our hosting provider and, where you choose to use it, by WhatsApp/Meta. Where a provider is located outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

5. Retention

Server logs are kept for a short technical period by our provider. WhatsApp conversations are kept for as long as needed to answer you, and no longer than 24 months, unless a longer period is required by law.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to us at hello@rasnov.city and we will answer within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian supervisory authority, ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro), or with the authority in your country of residence.
